Choosing The Right Size Van for Your Company

Making sure you buy the correct van for your small business can be the difference between being able to easily transport goods and materials and having to adapt to what you have. No one wants to make life harder for themselves and having the wrong size van for your needs definitely counts as making things harder for yourself.

Being able to offer deliveries to your customers and collect any goods yourself is a great way of boosting your sales and reaching more potential customers.

So how do you know what van size you need for your company? Check out this little guide to make sure you get the size van!

City Van

The smallest size van you can, this is essentially a larger car. This is perfect for small businesses who don’t need to transport anything big. Have you seen the small postal vans zipping around your local area? This is most likely a city van and whilst they can pack a fair amount in, it’s not big enough for larger items such as beds, heavy machinery and the like. Should you need to be transporting small parcels such as cakes, clothing or gifts, this could be up your street!

Panel Van

The next size up, think a transit van or Vauxhall Vivaro. Head to Drive Vauxhall for the best offers on Vauxhall vans and get yourself a van that can handle the bigger items that you may need to move. Still, small enough to be fairly agile around small towns and cities, these style vans will help you out if you need to be lading up your van with goods regularly.

If you run a shop and need to collect your stock, such as heading to a fruit and veg market for fresh produce for your greengrocers, this can help you fit more in to take advantage of any offers you may come across as well as your ordered goods! This size van usually comes with a side door for easy access too!

Luton Van

This type of van is big enough for all your household needs when moving home. If you are having a large item delivered, this is the most common type of van used.

Often coming with a tail lift to move goods from roadside to the back of the van, Luton vans are spacious enough to cope with most types of products no matter what the size.

So if you are in the removal industry, house clearances, rubbish removal services, this is the van for you.

Refrigerated Van

Despite not being a ‘van size’ so to speak, refrigerated vans come in many different shapes and sizes. So depending on your needs, you can find the size van to suit your business and help you keep your stock cool.

Need to keep things cold or at a certain temperature, then you need a refrigerated van. Particularly useful for those in the food industry but also wholesalers and people who need to transport colder items.
