Poem: The Fall
Living each day in the wake of the fall,
Seeing how people crack and then shatter,
The winds of change a most violent squall,
And what we want seems rarely to matter,
A nightmare where we cannot awaken,
The life we knew prior gone with a knock,
With voices whispering of what was taken,
And decades later we still feel the shock,
A moment you see; can unravel all,
Stealing the things you once took for granted,
Defined I am by the night of the fall,
When the seeds of fear were firmly planted,
It happened so fast that you could not control,
And on all of our lives has taken its toll.
