Forest

Through rapid growth our future is undone,
The forests are torn with barely a thought,
Engines of destruction wreck by the tonne,
The cost of progress humanity sought,
Half the forests are already destroyed,
Yet in a century might all be gone,
Look at the safeguards we never employed,
As life starts to fade from The Amazon.
